Health Guarantees and Contracts -- Border Collies

Updated: Mar 2, 2022

We always offer a health guarantee with all our puppies, and we have contracts not only to protect us, but to protect you and your puppy. Our health guarantee involves the following:

  1. We guarantee that the puppy is healthy on the date of delivery. If in the first 72 hours your veterinarian diagnoses a disease or any other genetic/congenital condition not previously disclosed, you have the right to return the pup for a full refund. While we do not envision this happening with our pups, things arise and no vaccine/care protocol is foolproof.

  2. We guarantee that the puppy is not affected by hereditary defects that the sire and dam are tested for via the Optimal Selection™ Panel (2020, including EOD).

  3. Should the puppy be diagnosed with hip dysplasia or elbow dysplasia prior to its second birthday, we will refund you the purchase price, provided the conditions are met.

We do have a set of conditions that must be met for the hip and elbow dysplasia clause, as these diseases are polygenetic and are also influenced by the environment to some degree. We want your pups to grow up healthy too, so the conditions are here to help make that happen!

  1. The puppy must not be spayed/neutered prior to 18mo.

  2. The puppy must be fed food formulated for puppies/or all life stages [determined by AAFCO standards] for at least 12 mo.

  3. Puppy must be kept lean (BCS 4/9 or 5/9) until 18mo.

  4. Puppy must not be jumped over elbow height prior to 1 year (12 months) of age.

We cherish our puppies and understand that things arise out of anyone's control. Never hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns!
