Moel Sweep is a well-known dog in the USBCHA trial world, and we couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to breed Juneau to him. Personality-wise, he's friendly without being over-the-top, calm, and perfectly content to hang out on the back of the 4-wheeler. On stock, he has an incredible amount of style and feel for his sheep--his trial results speak to his herding talent!
Moel Sweep's Pedigree
Sweep's sire, the late Penybryn Sweep, is a tremendous trial dog -- over 30 open wins, and is a sire/grandsire to many successful trial dogs today including Ross Games' Roy. Penybryn Sweep sired Kinloch Levi, who not only is a great trial dog (7th at the 2016th International Supreme, 2015 reserve Welsh National Champion) has also sired numerous agility dogs and is the sire of Susan Garrett's puppy in 2021. Sweep is grandsire to Preseli Ci, 2x International Supreme winner -- we don't have enough space on this blog to list the accomplishments of Sweep's progeny!
Sweep's dam Lynwood Betty is described as a heck of a farm dog, which we here at Redbrooke Ranch always appreciate! She also has some agility offspring in the UK.
Moel Sweep's Trial Results
This would be a long list, so we kept it short and hit the highlights--Sweep is insanely talented. He placed 3rd at the USBCHA National Nursery Finals in 2018 and qualified for Open Nationals the same year. He has been placing top ten at the best open trial's all across the country, and recently was 4th at the 2021 Bluegrass Classic and qualified for the double lift finals at the 2021 USBCHA National Finals. He's got a tremendous feel for his sheep, as well as the ability to remain calm in tense situations, and it's always a pleasure to watch this dog work!
